The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Weimar. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved. It was certainly a shock to her friends to know she had passed away so suddenly. She had been a widow for three or four years, her husband being killed by a horse kicking him. She leaves eight childen to mourn her untimely end. They ae as follows; John, Joe, Frank, Bob, Adolph and little Fred and two daughters, Annie and Mathal. Cejka, Anton T.Anton Cejka Funeral Held WednesdayFuneral services for Anton T. Cejka, 68, of Weimar, were held Wednesday, March 17 from St. Michael's Catholic Church, with Rev. Charles Carolan officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Cejka died at 8 a.m. Monday, March 15, in M. D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, after about three years' illness with cancer. Born in this county January 5, 1914, he was a son of John and Sophie (Kuchar) Cejka. He married Annie Cernoch here on October 27, 1947. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving from November 1942 to September 1945, and was a 50-year member of the KJT, of which he was also a past president. He was a member of the VFW post here, a former member of the Weimar Volunteer Fire Department, and served as treasurer of the RVOS insurance organization for 22 years. He was employed as a clerk by Weimar Home Furnishers. Mr. Cejka's wife died on October 24, 1980. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy. A. and Anna Cejka, and a grandson, Matthew James Cejka, all of Pearland. Three brothers, Johnny (as an infant), Frank and Henry, preceded him in death. Cejka, Elsie Evelyn (Pavlik)Elsie Cejka Graveside Service Held Dec. 27Elsie Evelyn Cejka, 92, a long time resident of Houston, died Sunday, Dec. 22. Graveside services were held Friday, Dec. 27 at St. Michael's Cemetery in Weimar with Father John C. Bily officiating. Mrs. Cejka was born in Weimar on Feb. 5, 1910. She is survived by daughter, Betty Sicinski and husband, John; son, Frank J. Cejka; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cejka, Frank C.Funeral Rites For Frank Cejka, 48, Held HereFuneral services for Frank C. Cejka, 48, Houston salesman who formerly lived here, were held Wednesday morning at Hubbard Funeral Home and St. Michael’s Church, with the Rev. Thomas O’Callaghan officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Cejka died shortly after a heart attack at 7:30 p.m. Monday Sept. 26. He suffered the attack at home was was dead on arrival at All Saints Hospital. Born here, Nov. 23, 1911, he was the son of Mrs. John Cejka and the late Mr. Cejka. He married Miss Elsie Pavlik, and in 1940 they moved to Houston, where they had lived since. Surviving in addition to his widow and mother are two sons, Franklin Cejka and Tommy Cejka, and a daughter Mrs. Betty Jean Sicinski, all of Houston; and two brothers, Anton and Henry Cejka of Weimar. Cejka, Henry F.Funeral Services Thursday Morning For Henry CejkaFuneral services for Henry Cejka, 54, who died Tuesday in Youens Hospital after a long illness, will be held Thursday morning, July 12, at 9:30 o’clock in Hubbard Funeral Home, continuing at 10 o’clock in St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Mr. Cejka had been a janitor at Weimar Public Schools for several years until illness forced him to retire. He had been ill for three years and three months. A lifelong resident of this area, he was born July 15, 1907, the son of John and Sophia Cejka, and married Miss Tina Janecka at Holman on October 20, 1930. He ws[sic] a member of St. Michael’s Church and the Knights of Columbus council at Weimar and the KJT lodge of Dubina. Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Henrietta) Cernosek, and two grandchildren, Debby and Denny Cernosek, of Baytown; his mother, Mrs. Sophia Cejka of Weimar; and one brother, Anton Cejka of Weimar. Two brothers preceded him in death, Frank Cejka, who died about a year ago, and Johnnie, who died as a 3-year-old. Weimar Mercury, July 12, 1962, page 1 Cejka, JosefA Bohemian farmer named Joe Cejka, Sr., living in the Sublime section, south of here in Lavaca county, was buried Tuesday afternoon at St. Michael’s cemetery, in this city. His death was caused through being kicked in the stomach by a wild young horse or mule which he was endeavoring to hitch to a buggy. Cejka, Lola (Warschak)CejkaLola Cejka, 81, of Columbus, passed away April 14 at River Oaks Health Care Center in Columbus. She was born Nov. 15, 1925 in Pesak Community to Eddie and Francis (Maertz) Warschak. She married Adolph Cejka on April 25, 1946. She was a retired sales clerk at Winn's Department Store in Columbus. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Mary Queen of Snow 1588 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Ervin Warschak. Survivors include son, Robert Cejka and wife Brenda of Pinehurst; grandson, Jason Oldham and wife Bonnie of Waller; great-grandchildren, Amber, Colton and Cameron Oldham; and sister, Myrtle Kretzschmar of Fayetteville. Funeral services were conducted April 17 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with interment in the church cemetery. Father Dan Kahlich officiated. Pallbearers were Gary Cejka, Jason Oldham, Terry Cejka, Larry Cejka, Marvin Schley and Joe Halfmann. Colorado County Citizen, April 18, 2007
Cejka, RobertDEATH OF ROBERT CEJKARobert Cejka, member of a prominent family of the Shimek section, and who for a long time was clerk at the store of F. Verunac of this city, died or tuberculosis at Carsbad[sic], near San Angelo, the last of the week, and the remains were brought here for interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery Monday afternoon, Rev. J. Szymanski officiating. Mr. Cejka was a soldier during the late world war, and It is believed he contracted the disease at that time. Before that time he was a stout, hearty man. He was taken to Carlsbad in the hopes that he could be benefited, and just a week later his body was shipped home. During the time he lived In our city he was popular among all our people, a jovial, good natured young man, highly thought of by all. Many friends deeply and sincerely deplore his death.
